NIS DG To His Alumnus Busari: Bring The FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup Home!

The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Comrade Philip Shaibu, has urged Head Coach of the Flamingos, Hakeem Busari, to bring home the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup trophy when Nigeria faces Japan in the final tomorrow.
Shaibu said the match presents a defining moment for Nigeria to claim its first title at the tournament.
The NIS boss expressed strong confidence in Busari’s technical competence, describing him as a product of the institute. He recalled that Busari obtained his initial coaching qualification from the National Institute for Sports, Lagos, in 1999.
According to Shaibu, the coach later returned to complete the NIS Higher Programmes between 2003 and 2006, and was issued his final coaching certificates in October 2006.
‘As an alumnus of the NIS, I believe in Coach Busari’s ability and pedigree,’ Shaibu stated. ‘He has been properly trained and groomed here, and I have no doubt that he has what it takes to lead the Flamingos to victory.’
The DG noted that the institute remains proud of Busari’s rise and his contribution to national football development.
Shaibu added that history beckons on the Flamingos and their technical crew in the final against Japan. He described the encounter as an opportunity for Nigeria to etch its name in gold on the global stage and to inspire the next generation of female footballers in the country.
The NIS DG also called on Nigerians to rally round the team and give them maximum support ahead of the final. He urged citizens to unite behind the Flamingos and pray for their success as they seek to win the ultimate prize at the U-17 Women’s World Cup for the nation.
