NPFL: Fubara Grants Free Entry for Rivers United’s Season Finale

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, has approved free entry for fans attending Rivers United’s final Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture of the 2025/2026 season.

The Pride of Rivers will face Katsina United in a decisive Matchday 38 clash on Sunday, May 24, at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 PM.

Through the Ministry of Sports, Governor Fubara directed that stadium gates be thrown open to allow supporters across the state to witness what could be a historic day for Rivers United.

To further ease transportation, free shuttle buses will operate from designated pickup points across Port Harcourt beginning at 12:30 PM, with departures to the stadium set for 2:30 PM.

The designated pickup locations include U.S.T Convocation Arena, UNIPORT Market Square, Mile 3 by Ikoku Flyover, Mile 1 by Education Bus Stop, Sharks Stadium (two buses), Yakubu Gowon Stadium (two buses), Rumuomasi Market Junction, and Rumuola by Aba Roundabout.

Rivers United enter the final game with a chance to clinch the NPFL title. Victory over Katsina United, combined with a favorable result for Ikorodu City in Lagos, would crown the Port Harcourt-based side champions of Nigeria.

The club has called on all supporters and football lovers in Rivers State to turn out in large numbers and cheer the team to victory.
