Omewa Nets Brace as Super Falcons Thrash Teranga Lionesses 3-0 in Ikenne

The Super Falcons of Nigeria produced a clinical second-half display to defeat the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal 3-0 in their international friendly at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Monday.
After a tense opening half that ended goalless, Nigeria broke through three minutes after the restart.
In the 48th minute, Shukurat Oladipo swung in a precise cross that Joy Omewa met with a powerful header to give the Falcons the lead. Just seven minutes later, Omewa doubled her tally, muscling past the Senegalese defence before finishing with composure to make it 2-0.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade then capped the performance in the 66th minute with a surging run and an assist for substitute Asisat Oshoala, who slotted home Nigeria’s third goal.
The Falcons maintained defensive solidity throughout, ensuring Senegal never found a way back into the contest.
The first half had seen Nigeria dominate possession and create chances, with Omewa striking the woodwork in the 15th minute and Gift Monday repeatedly troubling the visitors’ backline.
Despite the missed opportunities, the Falcons’ persistence paid off after the break.
