Osimhen: I see no need to leave Napoli

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen says he is ‘already at one of the biggest clubs and could not ask for more’

The 24 year old has thus shut the door on speculations linking him away from Napoli, the club he joined from Ligue 1 side, Lille in September 2020.

He has featured 92 times, scored 53 goals and bagged 14 assists across all competitions for the club.

His 21 goals in 24 Serie A games are the most scored by any player in the league so far this season and the goals have put Napoli top of the table with the chance of winning their first Scudetto in 33 years.

Osimhen has now told his suitors he sees no need to leave a club where he is adored and which has seen his market value improve to €100m.

‘I am already at one of the biggest clubs and I could not ask for more. Forza Napoli always!,’ Osimhen told TG5.

Osimhen is also confident the club could win its third scudetto at the end of the season.

‘The players always believed, we always thought we could do something exceptional, even when nobody else believed we could. The affection from the city is
extraordinary, I have never received so much love. I can’t wait to celebrate with them at the stadium.’
