Osimhen, Iheanacho Named In Serie A, EPL Best XI

Nigeria forwards Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho have been named in the Serie A and Premier League team of the week respectively.

Osimhen scored for the sixth straight game when he netted Napoli’s second goal in the 3-0 defeat of Cremonese at the weekend. The goal was his eighth in six games and 17 in 18 Serie A games.

The 24 year old has been named as one of the two forwards by football statistics website, Whoscored in a 4-4-2 system alongside Rasmus Højlund, the Atalanta player who scored his side’s second goal in their 2-0 win as SSS Lazio.

Iheanacho is also named in a 4-4-2 line up and will partner Brentford’s Ivan Tony whose conytentious equalizer against Arsenal extended the Bees unbeaten run in the Premier League to 10 games.

The 26 year old Nigerian was named the official man of the match after scoring once and provided an assist in Leicester City’s 4-1 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur at the King Power stadium.

It is the second time Iheanacho will be making Whoscored’s team of the week and was named official Premier League man of the match for the second straight week as well.

The former Manchester City forward has now scored in each of his three starts so far this season and will be looking forward to score and probably provide an assist again when the Foxes visit Old Trafford on Sunday to face Manchester United.
