Osimhen misses fifth penalty of club career

Victor Osimhen failed to convert a penalty and extend his goal drought to three in the Serie A after Napoli were forced to a gaolless draw by Bologna on
Sunday evening.

The Nigerian has failed to score in three straigh Serie A games for the first since April against Hellas Verona, Juventus and Salernitana after returning
from a tear in his abductor muscle.

Osimhen had the chance to return to scoring ways but missed the penalty that could have given his side all three points. Interestingly, the Nigerian had
scored his third Serie A goal of the season last month via the spot in Napoli’s 2-0 defeat of Sassuolo.

The penalty miss is the former Lille of France’s fifth of his club career and third for Napoli.

He first missed a penalty for RSC Charleroi in the Jupiler Pro League Europe Play-Offs game against KFCO Beerschot at the Olympisch Stadion. RSC Charleroi
won the game 3-0 and the Nigerian was on target before missing a 57th minute penalty that could have doubled his account.

Osimhen missed his second for Lille in the Ligue 1 game against visiting Montpellier at the Decathlon Arena-Stade Pierre-Mauroy. He however provided the
assist for his club’s opening goal of the game.

The 24 year old missed his second penalty for Napoli in last season’s 4-1 demolition of Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League, four months after missing in
his club’s 1-0 defeat of Fiorentina in the Serie A.

He however scored the only goal of the match after the penalty miss.
