Osimhen Vows to Keep Iconic Hairstyle Until Retirement
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has declared that he will not change his trademark hairstyle until the end of his football career.
The Galatasaray forward made the statement during a livestream hosted by Efe Carter, where a fan asked if he might consider altering his look at age 35.
‘The hairstyle has been like that, even till my retirement. It has become part of me,’ Osimhen responded, underscoring the personal significance of his iconic style.
The 27-year-old, who was crowned African Footballer of the Year in 2023, also expressed frustration over Nigeria’s absence from the ongoing FIFA World Cup finals in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Despite the expanded 48-team format and Africa’s allocation of nine automatic qualification slots plus a playoff berth, the Super Eagles failed to qualify after finishing second in their group and losing to DR Congo in the continental playoffs.
‘It’s bad, not just for me but for the rest of the guys,’ Osimhen said. ‘We’ve missed out twice in a row. Sometimes life happens, so we just have to keep moving.’
Nigeria last appeared at the FIFA World Cup in 2018, meaning Osimhen and several of his teammates have yet to experience football’s biggest stage.
