Peseiro: Flying Eagles are among top eight teams in world

Jose Peseiro, the Super Eagles of Nigeria head coach says the Flying Eagles are among the best eight teams in the world after Ladan Bosso’s U20 side lost 1-0 to Korea Republic to crash out of the ongoing FIFA U20 World Cup at the quarterfinal stage.

Peseiro, in Lagos, Nigeria to watch the ongoing Nigeria Premier League Super Six Playoffs took to his official Twitter page to share a message with the Flying Eagles.

‘Heads up, Flying Eagles! What you have shown in this world cup makes Nigerian people proud,’ Peseiro wrote.

‘They fought and honored to the end and earned a place among the top 8 teams in the World.’

The Portuguese tactician is expected to announce the Super Eagles squad that will face Sierra Leone in a 2023 AFCON qualifier on June 18.

The Samuel Kayon Doe Stadium in Monrovia, Liberia has been chosen to host the Sierra Leone and Super Eagles game.
