Sadiq Umar Scores, Inspires Almeria To First Win In 2022

Takes tally to nine goals in 21 games

Gangling forward Sadiq Umar was the star of the show at the Estadio de los Juegos Friday night where he propelled Almeria to their first victory in 2022.

Almeria had won just one point out of a possible 15 since the beginning of the year no thanks to the absence of their talisman, Sadiq who was away on national duty with Nigeria at AFCON 2021.

The 25 year old missed four of the five games his club has played so far, playing for only 45 minutes in the 2-0 loss at Real Oviedo at the end of last month soon after his return from AFCON 2021 duty with Nigeria.

A refreshed Sadiq was unleashed Friday night by Almeria coach and the Nigerian did not disappoint, capping a wonderful display with an equally wonderful, individual goal in added time to ensure a 2-0 win for the homers.

The  win takes Almeria to second spot on the log with 49 points from 26 games.

It was Sadiq’s ninth goal in 21 LaLiga 2 games so far this season and his first in his first game against UD Ibiza
