Sadiq Umar yet to record a shot in LaLiga, Iheanacho gets two
After five games in the LaLiga, Umar Sadiq is the only one out of the four Nigerians in the competition yet to register a shot.
The Real Sociedad forward has featured in four of his sides five games and has started the last two before he was left on the bench in the 1-0 loss at Mallorca Tuesday night.
The duo of Chrisantus Uche (Getafe) and Ejuke Chidera (Sevilla) have had one each with the former’s shot resulting in a goal in his LaLiga debut against Bilbao.
Kelechi Iheanacho has featured just twice in the competition for Sevilla since his switch from England as a free agent to Spain. The 27 year old has had two shots fired but without recording a goal.
According to the LaLiga website, Ejuke however leads not just his Nigerian compatriots in the competition but the entire players in the number of successful dribbles (17), better than Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) and Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid).
None of the Nigerians has provided any assist, Sadiq has made just one recovery while Uche has played the most minutes (353) by a Nigerian in the competition.
