Semi Ajayi Back in Premier League After Five-Year Absence

Nigeria international Semi Ajayi will once again grace the Premier League stage, five years after his last appearance, following Hull City’s dramatic play-off final victory at Wembley.
Ajayi featured for the full 90 minutes as Hull overcame Middlesbrough to secure promotion, marking a triumphant return to the top flight for the defender.
His journey back to the Premier League has been long and eventful. First registered with Arsenal during the 2014/15 season, Ajayi did not make a senior appearance for the Gunners before moving on to establish himself elsewhere.
His most notable spell in the Premier League came with West Bromwich Albion in the 2020/21 season, where he played 33 matches, starting 31 of them.
Across 2,780 minutes of action, Ajayi contributed two goals, made 40 tackles and 42 interceptions, won 128 duels and 75 aerial battles, and picked up three yellow cards along with one red, the latter in a goalless draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.
