Shooting Stars head to Ikenne and Shagamu for Optima Energy Gold Cup
After emerging champions of the Coal City pre-season tournament in Enugu last week, Shooting Stars of Ibadan will step up their preparations for the new NPFL season by playing in another preseason game, this time in Ikenne and Sagamu, both in Ogun state.
The Oluyole Warriors confirmed their participation in the 12th Optima Energy Gold Cup Pre season Tournament.
‘We are ready to compete in the 12th Optima Energy Gold Cup Pre season Tournament.
The annual tourney is slated to hold between Thursday August 15 and Saturday August 24, in Ikenne and Sagamu,’ the club wrote on its social media page.
Shooting Stars missed playing continental football last season after finishing fourth with 62 points, one point behind Enyimba in third who picked the CAF Confederation Cup ticket after Rangers and Remo Stars had picked the two CAF Champions League tickets on offer.
The Ibadan-based side will start their 2024/25 league campaign away at the Lafia Township Stadium in Lafia where they will face their host, Nasarawa United.
