Somolu Ward F to battle Bariga Ward D for Orekoya Alliance Tournament Cup

Somolu Ward F and Bariga Ward D are the last two clubs standing and will battle for the Orekoya Alliance Tournament Cup on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the
sports ground of Yaba College of Technology in Yaba, Lagos.

To get to the final, Somolu Ward F defeated Somolu Ward H by a lone goal scored by Stepehen Aikhimen while Bariga Ward D defeated Bariga Ward F via penalty
shootout after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Thankgod Anebie scored for Bariga Ward D while Bariga Ward F’s goal was scored by Opeyemi Igbeke Odukoya. The former won the shootout 4-2.

Saturday’s final will be preceded at 10am by the 3rd place match between Ward H of Somolu and Ward F of Bariga.

The final match will begin at 12 noon.

A total of 39 goals have so far been scored in the tournament with the duo of Mubaraq Olowolayemo Ward G Bariga and
Stephen Aikhimen of Ward F Somolu in the race to finish as top scorer after having scored six goals each.

The football competition is packaged for youths under the age of 20 in Somolu Local Governemnent Area and Bariga Local Council Development Area and it is
sponsored by Honourable Abiodun Orekoya, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Somolu Constituency 1.

He is also the chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Social Development.
