Super Eagles still second in most valuable African teams list, Rwanda 36th
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are still the second most valuable squad in Africa and 14th in the world after the latest valuation by transfermarkt.
The Nigerians mauled the Cheetahs of Republic of Benin 3-0 in their opening group game of the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for Morocco.
The Super Eagles are worth €367.45m with the trio of Victor Osimhen (€100m) Ademola Lookman (€40m) and Victor Boniface (€40m) accounting for almost half of the amount.
The Atlas Lion of Morocco tops the list of most valuable African squad and 12th in the world with €376.65m valuation, slightly over €10m more than the Super Eagles with the PSG wing back, Achraf Hakimi their most valuable player at €60m.
Nigeria’s 2025 AFCON qualifying group opponents, Libya, Benin and Rwanda are worth a combined €24.5m market value with the Cheetahs, 26th in Africa and 94th in the world are next to Nigeria at €19.43m.
The Amavubi of Rwanda, Super Eagles’ next opponent in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers are 36th in Africa and 137th in the world and are worth a paltry €4.98m with Standard Liège’s defensive midfielder, Hakim Sahabo their most valuable player at €1.5m.
Libya, the third team in Nigeria’s qualifying group are worth less than half a million euros (€275k) and are ranked 50th in worth in Africa and 196th in the world.
