Lecce becomes the Nigerian's 21st victim in the Italian topflight

Victor Osimhen scored for the second consecutive time on Saturday to inspire his club, Napoli to a second consecutive win in the Serie A and fourth in seven
games this term.

The Nigerian netted on 51 minutes to double Napoli’s advantage as the Partenopei scored four times for the second game running as they walloped thei host,
Lecee 4-0 at the Stadio Via del Mare.

Osimhen returned to scoring form mid-week in Napoli’s 4-1 mauling of Isaac Suceess’ Udinese at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona after going three games
without a goal in the competition.

The goal was the 24 year old’s first in two games against Lecce and fifth in seven games so far this term to draw him level with Lautaro Martinez in the
2023/23 top scorer’s race.

He has now scored against 21 sides in the division, firing blanks only against Parma, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Benevento.

Osimhen scored 26 goals last season to become the first African player to top score in the history of the Serie A.

Lautaro has the chance to move clear of the Nigerian later in the evening when his club, Inter Milan visits Salernitana.

The former Lille of France striker has scored 41.7% of the total goals netted by Napoli so far this term.
