Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, demolished Colombia 70–37 in Villeurbanne, France, during the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament, producing a defensive masterclass that left their opponents humiliated.
Nigeria started strongly, taking an 18–12 lead in the first quarter. Colombia responded in the second, narrowing the gap to trail 34–29 at halftime. But the second half was a nightmare for the South Americans.
Nigeria’s defense completely shut them down, holding Colombia to just five points in the third quarter and only three in the fourth. By the final buzzer, the scoreboard read 70–37, a margin that reflected Nigeria’s dominance across all areas of the game.
Victoria Macaulay was Nigeria’s standout performer, finishing with 13 points, six rebounds, and an efficiency rating of 19.
Ezinne Kalu added eight points and three assists, while Promise Amukamara contributed six points and three assists.
