Ejuke partially returns to train with Sevilla team, Iheanacho missing

Chidera Ekuje is back in training after over two months out with injury.

The Nigerian joined the Sevilla team preparing for this weekend’s LaLiga fixture at the Estadio R. Sanchez Pizjuan where they will host Sadiq Umar’s Valencia as the 27-year-old begins the final phase of his recovery as his return to the pitch is scheduled for the end of the month.

He had earlier started training on his own before joining the group on Thursday.

Ejuke injured his left hamstring last October during the Barcelona Vs Sevilla match. The player opted for the conservative route and did not go into surgery, but the recovery times between the two options were very similar (around eight weeks of recovery).

Meanwhile, Kelechi Iheanacho was not among the players who trained on Thursday.

The 28-year-old missed Sevilla’s Copa del Rey crash at Almeria last week due to injury and looks to be on his way out of the club he only joined as a free agent last July.
