Salah Fires Egypt Back to the World Cup

Mohamed Salah is set to return to the global stage as Egypt secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Liverpool forward scored twice in a commanding 3-0 win over Djibouti on Wednesday, guaranteeing Egypt’s top spot in their African qualifying group with one match still to play.

This marks a significant milestone for Salah and the national team, who last appeared at the World Cup in 2018.

That campaign was marred by injury for the Egyptian talisman, who suffered a shoulder setback during Liverpool’s Champions League final loss to Real Madrid just weeks before the tournament.

Egypt went on to lose all three of their group matches against Russia, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia.
