Akor Adams Nets Brace on AFCON 2025 Return to Rescue Sevilla

Akor Adams marked his return from AFCON 2025 duty in stunning fashion, scoring twice to earn Sevilla a vital point in their La Liga clash away to Elche.

The Nigerian striker, who helped his country secure a ninth bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations alongside compatriot Chidera Ejuke, came off the bench at half-time with Sevilla trailing 1-0 at the Estadio Martínez Valero.

Elche doubled their advantage ten minutes later, leaving the Andalusians staring at what would have been their 12th defeat in 20 league games.

But Adams, 25, turned the tide. He struck in the 75th minute to halve the deficit, continuing the form he showed before AFCON when he scored and assisted in Sevilla’s 4-0 win over Real Oviedo.

With the clock deep into stoppage time, Adams pounced again to level the match, ending Sevilla’s losing streak at three games.

Adams has now scored five goals in 15 La Liga appearances this season, adding to his growing reputation after netting twice and providing two assists for Nigeria during the continental tournament.

Ejuke also featured as a second-half substitute in the draw, as Sevilla look to rebuild momentum in a difficult campaign.
