Ndah eager for Stellenbosch debut, says coach Gavin Hunt

Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt has revealed that Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah is eager to make his debut for the club as they prepare for upcoming Premier Soccer League fixtures against Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs.

Ndah joined Stellenbosch as a free agent after a successful trial, having parted ways with Orlando Pirates last year by mutual consent.

His time at Pirates was hampered by recurring injuries that restricted his appearances and eventually saw him fall down the pecking order.

Although the 28-year-old centre-back has yet to feature for his new side, Stellenbosch are awaiting the completion of his work permit from South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs.

Hunt admitted that while Ndah is anxious to get on the pitch, he still needs to build match fitness before being fully integrated into the squad.

‘Actually, I might go there now,’ Hunt joked when asked about the possibility of selecting Ndah against Chiefs. ‘He is eager to play, but he also needs to get match fitness.’
