West Ham Eye Nigerian Teen Star Mubarak Suleiman

West Ham United may be battling for Premier League survival, but the club is already looking ahead to the future with reports linking them to Nigerian teenager Mubarak Suleiman.

The 18‑year‑old winger, currently developing in Slavia Prague’s academy, has caught the eye with his pace and flair, sparking speculation of a move to London.

Suleiman’s emergence has drawn comparisons to past Czech recruits who thrived at West Ham, including Vladimír Coufal and Tomáš Souček. His performances in the UEFA Youth League, particularly against Benfica, have added to the growing buzz around his potential.

Slavia Prague coach Jindřich Trpišovský addressed the rumours, praising Suleiman’s talent but urging caution.

‘Mubarak is a great prospect, but so far he’s only played three senior games,’ he said.

While acknowledging the winger’s bright future, Trpišovský suggested Suleiman’s style may be better suited to Serie A at this stage.

‘I always used to say that Souček was suited to the Premier League, and today I would say that Suleiman might be perfect for Italy.’

With Transfermarkt currently valuing Suleiman at €50,000, his trajectory could change rapidly in the coming years.
