‘Bring On Liverpool!’: Osimhen Roars After Striking To Seal Derby Win Vs Beşiktaş

Victor Osimhen has already shifted his focus to next week’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 showdown against Liverpool after firing Galatasaray to a crucial 1-0 victory over Beşiktaş in Istanbul.
The Nigerian forward struck in the 39th minute at Tüpraş Stadium, his 11th Süper Lig goal of the season, to secure three points that keep the Yellow and Reds top of the table with 61 points.
Reflecting on the derby, Osimhen admitted the challenge was immense: ‘It wasn’t going to be easy. He was a difficult opponent. There were thousands of fans. There was momentum at the beginning, we found the goal. We had a hard time after the red. I congratulate my teammates for their strength. We fought very aggressively until the last moment. I am very happy.’
He also underlined his passion for Galatasaray: ‘I follow my coach’s instructions. There were some of my teammates who excited and motivated me. After the goal, they called me to the defense. I love this club very much. I am proud of my team. We show unity. We have to go match by match.’
Looking ahead to Liverpool, Osimhen made his intent clear: ‘This win will support us. Our feet must be on the ground. Liverpool is a very big team. We will play at home. If we are careful, we can do well, although it is not very easy. All matches are difficult in the Champions League. We will fight to do good work.’
