Akor Starts, Lookman and Ejuke on Bench as Sevilla Host Atletico

Nigerian striker Akor Adams was named in Sevilla’s starting lineup for their La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, while compatriots Ademola Lookman and Chidera Ejuke began the match on the bench.

Ejuke, who last started for Sevilla in November 2025 during a 2-0 defeat to Real Betis, has struggled for regular minutes this season, making just four starts in 22 appearances.

His inclusion among the substitutes continues a pattern of limited involvement under Sevilla’s current setup.

Akor, meanwhile, has become a consistent presence in Sevilla’s attack, making his 11th consecutive start in the 13 games he has featured in since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

His form has been crucial for Sevilla as they push to climb the table in the closing stages of the campaign.

For Lookman, this marks a second straight game without a start.

The Nigerian forward was an unused substitute in Sevilla’s 2–1 loss to Barcelona last week. Since joining from Atalanta earlier this season, Lookman has started five of his seven La Liga appearances.

The fixture, part of Matchweek 31, pits Sevilla against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid in a contest with significant implications for European qualification.
