Akor Adams Breaks Serie A Duck, Okoye Eyes 80th Appearance Against Inter

Akor Adams scored his first Serie A goal on his fourth attempt as Venezia suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Fiorentina at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Saturday.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring for Venezia in the 22nd minute, but Fiorentina responded with two goals in less than two minutes to turn the game around before half-time and lead 2-1 at the break.

The goal was Adams’ first in the Italian topflight after three previous appearances without finding the net.

Meanwhile, Maduka Okoye will be targeting a landmark 80th Serie A appearance when Udinese travel to face Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday.

Okoye will also be seeking his first clean sheet against Inter in five Serie A meetings with the Nerazzurri.

The Nigerian goalkeeper has faced Inter four times previously in the league, but has yet to prevent the Milan giants from scoring.
