Akor Adams Urges NFF to Begin 2030 World Cup Preparations
Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to begin preparations immediately for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco.
Speaking during a La Liga media session following his nomination for the Sporting La Liga MVP award, Adams reflected on Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, describing it as a ‘sore loss for the Eagles and the NFF.’
He emphasized that collective responsibility is required to ensure the team does not miss out again.
‘It’s not just the players, but everyone involved must ensure we don’t repeat this. The preparation for 2030 starts now,’ Adams stated.
At club level, Adams has been one of Sevilla’s standout performers this season, contributing crucial goals and assists despite the team’s overall struggles in La Liga. He credited his fitness, trust from coaches, and support from teammates as key factors behind his success.
‘The season has not been the best as a team, but personally, I’ve tried to contribute by scoring and assisting as much as I can,’ he said. ‘My priority is to keep the club in a good place.’
Adams also highlighted the confidence boost that comes from representing Nigeria, noting that his international experience has positively influenced his performances in Spain.
He further spoke about adapting to multiple managers at Sevilla, stressing the importance of quick learning and tactical discipline.
