Alex Iwobi Targets 15th Premier League Goal In 169th Appearance
Alex Iwobi will be seeking to score his second Premier League goal of the season for Everton in 14 games when the Toffees host Brighton at Goodison Park Sunday.
Iwobi, 25, has scored just once in 13 appearances so far this term and the former Arsenal player will be keen to rewrite his Premier League goal record at the club since he joined in August 2019.
Since he made the surprise deadline day transfer, Iwobi has scored one goal per season and against the same club, Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Nigerian will hope he scores this Sunday to break that unwanted record.
If he scores, it will be his fourth Premier League goal in two and a half seasons for Arsenal and 15th overall since he made his debut in the competition six years ago.
It will also be his second against the visitors in nine appearances after scoring once in Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat of the Seagulls in October 2017 at the Emirates.
Iwobi will also be seeking to start his eighth game in the competition for Everton this season. Overall he has 113 starts in 168 games and has provided 19 assists.
In the 168 appearances he has made in the competition he has fired 186 shots with 73 on target while he has 39% shooting accuracy.
