Amusan: I am proud to be a Glo Ambassador
World 100m hurdles champion and record holder, Tobi Amusan says she is very delighted to become an ambassador of Globacom, a true Nigerian company following her unveiling Thursday in Lagos.
The 25 year old who won every available major title in 2022 viz the Nigerian, African, Commonwealth, Diamond League and World titles commended the Globacom for appointing her as its ambassador. She assured the company of good representation at all times, in addition to being a good role model for youths.
”I am proud to be associated with Glo as its brand ambassador. It is a proudly Nigerian company doing great things and empowering Nigerians. I am grateful to the Chairman, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jr., for giving me this amazing opportunity,” she said, adding that she would continue to project a positive image of the brand across the world.
Amusan, a two-time African Games champion and record holder, also won back to back African and Commonwealth titles in the 100m hurdles. She concluded her highly successful 2022 campaign by competing in the 100m hurdles at the Zurich Diamond League event, which she won in 12.29 seconds.
The Ijebu Ode born star also set new marks at some of the events.
She set a new 12.54 seconds Nigerian Championships record in June and set the African record three times in 2022.
She also set a new 12.12 seconds world record before smashing the 16 year of 12.65 seconds Commonwealth Games record with a commanding 12.30 seconds in the final.
Currently ranked the fifth best woman in the world across all events, Amusan also is the top ranked African, man or woman so far this year.
