Ancelotti looking to make history against Liverpool in UCL final
Real Madrid have qualified for the Champions League Final where Carlo Ancelotti could become the first-ever coach to win the trophy four times.
The Italian has now reached his fifth UEFA Champions League final (2003, 2005 and 2007 with AC Milan, 2014 and 2022 with Real Madrid), the most of any manager in the competition’s history

They were 1-0 down at minute 90, but Rodrygo scored twice in the stoppages, sending the game to extra time. Karim Benzema completed the job, scoring the winner from the spot in extra time.
The La Liga giants will face Liverpool in the Final at Paris’ Stade de France on May 28. Ancelotti has already won the Champions League three times, like Bob Paisley and Zizou Zidane, his former assistant at the Bernabeu.
If he beats the Reds he will become the first coach to win the trophy four times. Carletto also lifted the European Cup twice as a footballer.
The Italian tactician won the La Liga title last weekend, becoming the first coach to triumph in the top five European leagues.
Meanwhile, Karim Benzema has scored seven UEFA Champions League goals against English teams this season; the most by a player in a single campaign in the competition’s history.
The Frenchman has also netted four goals in five previous games versus Liverpool in the competition.
The Real Madrid forward’s 10 goals in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages this season is the joint-most by a player in a single campaign along with Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016-17, also for Real Madrid.
