Osimhen Scores 50th Süper Lig Goal As Galatasaray Thrash Konyaspor

Victor Osimhen scored his 50th Turkish Süper Lig goal in his 60th appearance as Galatasaray cruised to a 4-0 victory over Konyaspor on Friday at Konya Büyükşehir Stadium.

The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 12th minute, converting a pass from Gabriel Sara to give the visitors an early lead and reach the landmark in his Galatasaray career.

Yunus Akgün doubled the advantage in the 28th minute, assisted by Aleksey Batrakov, before Sara turned provider again in the 49th minute, setting up Batrakov for Galatasaray’s third goal.

Rafael Leão completed the emphatic victory in the 55th minute as Galatasaray secured all three points with a commanding performance away from home.

Osimhen had scored 49 goals in 59 Süper Lig appearances before the encounter. His latest strike takes him to 50 goals in 60 games, underlining his remarkable scoring consistency since making his Turkish top-flight debut in September 2024.

The 27-year-old is now the second Nigerian to score at least 50 goals in the Süper Lig, following the late former Flying Eagles striker Isaac Promise, who scored 65 goals in 268 appearances for five different clubs.

The goal also boosts Osimhen’s bid for another Golden Boot, having entered Friday’s fixture with eight goals in seven league appearances, level with Mohamed Salah and Gift Orban in the scoring chart.

Osimhen had scored once in his only previous appearance against Konyaspor and was seeking to make the club the 14th different opponent against which he has scored at least twice in the Turkish top flight.

His latest milestone adds to an outstanding record since the beginning of the 2024/25 season. Osimhen has registered 63 goal contributions in 60 matches across all competitions for Galatasaray, averaging 1.05 per appearance.

That puts him among four players in Europe’s top 10 leagues averaging more than one goal contribution per match over the period, alongside Harry Kane, Luis Suarez and Kylian Mbappe.

Kane leads the group with 84 goal contributions in 64 appearances, while Suarez has 43 in 41 matches and Mbappe 77 in 75.
