Chuba Akpom Wins Third PFA Fans’ Player Of The Month Award

Chuba Akpom has made it a hat-trick of PFA Fans’ Player of the Month awards for the season.

Middlesbrough’s leading marksman has again been voted winner of the prize for February, having done the same in November and January.

Akpom has bagged 24 for the campaign so far, including 23 in the Sky Bet Championship. Five of those goals came in February in victories over Sheffield United, Blackpool and QPR.

The Nigerian, ignored by Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro in his 23-man squad for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Guinea-Bissau has been linked with a few English Premier League clubs led by Everton and Leeds United.

The former Arsenal academy player who played 12 times for the north London outfit will be in contention to win the Championship Player of the Season award.

It has been an incredible rise for the 27-year-old and his stock has risen tenfold in English football as a result.
