Marcos Pelegrin, LaLiga’s Africa Managing Director says Nigeria and Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze is ‘fully deserving of the LaLiga Santander African MVP Award’
Chukwueze scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 50 games across all competitions in the just ended season. It was the Nigerian’s best season since he started playing for Villarreal in 2018.
‘We would like to warmly congratulate Samuel Chukwueze for winning the 2022/2023 LaLiga Santander African MVP Award.
‘He has been one of the stars of LaLiga for a number of years now and he is fully deserving of the LaLiga Santander African MVP Award.
‘This was yet another season of fantastic performances from Africa’s elite players in LaLiga Santander, ensuring the interest in the league continues to grow rapidly amongst fans on the African continent.

LaLiga will soon announce the name of the African football fan who won a trip to watch a LaLiga game live for voting in the LaLiga Santander African MVP competition.
