Samuel Chukwueze will be seeking to end his fifth season in the Spanish LaLiga with his seventh goal of the season in 37 appearances when his club,
Villarreal host Atletico Madrid at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday.
The Nigerian is enjoying his most productive season since he made his first senior debut for Villarreal in the 2018/19 season.
The 23 year old will be gunning for his 50th game across all competitions, the first time he will be reaching 50 matches in terms of appearances.
He has also hit double figures in terms of goals (13) and assists (11) for the first time since he joined Villarreal and he his six goals in the LaLiga is
the most he has scored in a single season.
In terms of LaLiga appearances, Chukwueze will be equalling his best ever in a single season in the competition after playing 37 times in the 2019/20 season.
Chukwueze has neither scored or provided any assist in six games against Atletico Madrid, the only big three he has failed to net against. He has scored
three times and bagged just one assists against Barcelona.
Against Real Madrid, the Nigerian has netted twice and bagged two assists in eight appearances with his two goals coming in the 3-2 defeat of Los Blancos at
the Santiago Bernabeu last April.
