Chukwueze gunning for first goal and first win in nine games vs Bilbao
As Villarreal continue bid for a top four finish
Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze will be seeking to score his first goal and more importantly record his win in nine LaLiga appearances against Athletic Bilbao who
visit the Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday.
The Nigerian has lost five of the eight games he has played against the Basque side and knows a win for Villarreal today can move the club he has been
playing for at the senior level since November 2018 closer to playing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Villarreal are currently fifth with 53 points from 33 games and will need to win all their remaining five games while hoping results alsewhere at the top of
the log go their way.
Chukwueze is having his best season in front of goal this season, netting 13 times in 45 games with six coming in 32 LaLiga games.
The Nigerian has not scored since ealry April when he netted twice to inspire Villarreal to a memorable 3-2 defeat of Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu and will be hoping for a re-enactment of that moment of pure magic at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Saturday.
