Ella Onojuvwevwo to run 200m, 400m at Razorback Invitational

Barring any last minutes adjustment, Ella Onojuvwevwo will compete in the 200m and 400m events at the Razorback Invitational which holds this Friday inside the Randal Tyson Track Complex at the
University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The 17 year old made her debut for Louisiana State University, LSU at the Red Raider Open held in Lubbock, Texas last weekend and ran an indoor personal best of 24.15 in the 200m.

This time, the former World U20 4x400m and 4x400m mixed relays champion will do the double. While whatever she runs in the 400m will count as her personal best as she will be competing indoors in the event for the first time, she will strive to break 24 seconds in the half lap event.

Meanwhile, Favour Ofili will be competing in her first individual race this season after she was listed in the 200m event.

The 20 year old has a 22.46 personal best in the event which is a Nigerian and African record.

Ofili will be competing for the second time at the Razorback Invitational.

Interestingly, she opened her first 200m indoor race of 2022 at the same venue, running a 22.80, then her second fastest time indoors. All eyes will be on the pretty Nigerian who made Track and Field News’ top 10 in the 200m for 2022 as she raised expectations last year with her 22.46 run SEC Indoor Championships at College Station, Texas.

It is not clear yet if she will be running in the 60m as some athletes will have to run in the Prelims first to qualify for the main event.

Brume Oghenebrume will also compete in the men’s 200m.
