Eriksen Doing Well After Collapse in Denmark Match

Denmark’s friendly against Ukraine was abandoned after 65 minutes when midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch, sparking immediate concern and painful memories of his cardiac arrest at Euro 2021.

Medical staff rushed to his aid as teammates and opponents formed a protective circle around him. After several tense minutes, Eriksen was reported conscious, later standing and being escorted off the field by his wife Sabrina to an ambulance. Players on both sides were visibly shaken, with many in tears.

The Danish FA confirmed on X that Eriksen is “conscious and doing well, judging by the circumstances.” National team coach Brian Riemer praised the swift response of team doctor Morten Boesen, saying: ‘The most important thing was, of course, that we got a message about Christian, and it was handled fantastically. Eriksen is doing well. That was the most important thing.’

The incident brought the game to an emotional halt, with Danish and Ukrainian players applauded by fans as they gathered together on the pitch.
