FC Ebedei Graduate Ikenna Prosper Ude-Chukwu Begins New Chapter at FC Midtjylland

FC Midtjylland have announced the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian defender Ikenna Prosper Ude-Chukwu, who joins the club’s U19 squad from strategic partner club FC Ebedei.
The highly rated defender will continue his development within FC Midtjylland’s academy as he embarks on the next stage of his career in Denmark after progressing through the ranks at the Nigerian club.
Speaking after completing the move, Ude-Chukwu described the transfer as a dream come true and an important milestone for both himself and his family.
“It is really big for me to sign a contract with FC Midtjylland, and for my family as well. It is my first professional contract, so I am incredibly happy. It is a dream for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity,” he said.
The teenager acknowledged the challenges of adapting to a new country but expressed appreciation for the warm reception he has received since arriving in Denmark.
“FC Midtjylland is a big club in Denmark, and everyone has welcomed me very well. There are many differences between Nigeria and Denmark. The food, the pitches and the weather have all made a strong impression on me,” he added.
Ude-Chukwu said his immediate priority is to continue improving every day while setting ambitious long-term goals at the club.
“My short-term goal is to become better every day and focus on my development. In the long term, I hope to play for the first team. One of my biggest dreams is to play in the UEFA Champions League with FC Midtjylland,” he said.
FC Midtjylland’s Head of FCM Nigeria, Jonas Dal, praised the defender’s qualities and believes he is well suited to the club’s style of play.
According to Dal, Ude-Chukwu is a physically strong defender who excels in one-on-one situations, combines his defensive aggression with good control, and possesses the pace and game intelligence needed to thrive in a high defensive line.
“He is incredibly fast and reads the game very well, making it difficult for attacking players to get past him. He fits perfectly into FC Midtjylland’s philosophy because we want to press high and maintain a high defensive line. It is important that defenders can anticipate how the game develops, and Ikenna has shown a strong ability to read opponents and react quickly,” Dal said.
