Flamingos Humble Brazil 3-1 To Reach U-17 Women’s World Cup Final
Bashiru's Brace, Joseph's Goal Set Up Title Showdown With Japan

Nigeria’s Flamingos stormed into the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco after producing an impressive second-half performance to defeat Brazil 3-1 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, Queen Joseph broke the deadlock in the 56th minute, finishing off a move created by Oluwakemi Adegbuyi to put Nigeria ahead.
The Flamingos doubled their advantage in the 71st minute through Awawu Bashiru, who converted Joseph’s assist to give the Nigerian side a two-goal cushion.
Bashiru struck again nine minutes later, this time benefiting from Oluebube Umejiaku’s assist, to put Nigeria firmly in control at 3-0.
Brazil pulled one back in the 89th minute through Greise Kelly, who was set up by Yasmin Queiroz, but it proved only a consolation as the Flamingos held on to secure a memorable victory.
The win sends Nigeria into the final, where they will face Japan for the title, moving one step closer to claiming their first FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup crown.
The Flamingos’ victory over Brazil is another landmark achievement for the Nigerian side, who will now look to complete their impressive campaign by lifting the trophy.
