Fulham 5-0 Nothingham Forest: Alex Iwobi nets first ever EPL brace, equals personal season’s goals record

Alex Iwobi scored twice for Fulham in their 5-0 demolition of Ola Aina’s Nothingham Forest Wednesday evening at Craven Cottage.

It was the Nigerian’s first ever Premier League brace since he made his debut in the competition to bring his total Premier league tally to 20 in 234 appearances.

The 27 year old has now scored three times in the Premier League this season in only 11 games to equal his personal season’s best of three achieved twice in 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons.

He has moved joint level (ninth) with Victor Moses in the Nigerian Premier League top scorers’ chart.

Interestingly, Iwobi is yet to provide any assist this season after making history last term as the Nigerian with the most assist (7) in a Premier League season.

His 27 overall is the second best provided by a Nigerian in the history of the competition behind the 29 of Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu.

The Nigerian will now be looking to score his first hat-trick in the competition and in English football since he started playing for the Arsenal senior team in 2015.
