Gift Orban Joins Salah Atop Super Lig Scorers Chart

Super Eagles striker Gift Orban moved level with Mohamed Salah at the top of the Turkish Super Lig scoring chart after scoring in Amed Sportif’s 3-2 defeat of Besiktas at the Seyrantepe Diski Stadyumu on Sunday.

Orban opened the scoring after just 13 minutes to take his league tally to seven goals, drawing level with Salah at the summit of the early-season scoring standings.

The Nigerian, who also holds Togolese nationality, has been one of the standout performers for Amed Sportif since the start of the campaign, with seven goals and two assists in six league appearances.

Salah also has seven goals for Trabzonspor, while Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi and Nigeria international Victor Osimhen have eight goal involvements each, with both players on six goals and two assists.

Osimhen was unavailable for Galatasaray’s clash with Trabzonspor on Saturday as the champions suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat, with Salah scoring a hat-trick.
