‘Good to Get Off the Mark’: Lookman Delighted to Open Atletico Scoring Account

Ademola Lookman was pleased to open his goalscoring account for this season after helping them to a 3-1 victory over Sevilla in La Liga on Saturday.

The Nigeria international scored Atletico’s second goal in the 26th minute as Diego Simeone’s side secured their first league win of the campaign.

‘I’m very happy with the three points, of course,’ Lookman told Atletico’s official website. ‘We played very well today. We were very sharp in the right moments.

‘Good to get off the mark, of course. I’m happy to win and that’s the most important thing.’

Lookman also praised the team’s collective performance and the understanding among Atletico’s attacking players.

‘But also playing together as a team today, in those moments, was great,’ he said. ‘Obviously, top players interlinking together, playing with the same mindset. Of course, I’m happy to play with the guys.’

The goal was Lookman’s first of the La Liga season and his 10th for Atletico Madrid since joining the Spanish club.
