Iheanacho Reveals Favourite Bursaspor Goal, Hails Fans

Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed gratitude to Bursaspor supporters for their overwhelming support since his arrival at the Turkish club, while revealing his favourite goal and sharing insights into his transfer.
The former Leicester City and Manchester City forward said he was delighted with the reception he received in Bursa, describing the club as a family and expressing hope that they would soon return to the Turkish Super Lig.
Speaking to Bursaspor’s YouTube channel, Iheanacho explained that his representatives handled most of the negotiations that led to his move, but he was pleased when his agent presented the club’s proposal to him.
‘I don’t talk about transfer negotiations. I tried to focus on my football. To be honest, the transfer negotiations were handled by agents and managers,’ he said.
The Nigerian said Bursaspor’s history and background helped convince him to accept the offer, adding that he had enjoyed every moment since joining the club.
Iheanacho also praised the supporters for the messages they sent him on Instagram during the transfer process, particularly their creative and humorous content.
He said the warm reception extended to him by the club’s president, Furkan Akın, the coaching staff and his teammates had made him feel at home.
‘I love Bursaspor fans very much. I know they love me too. Everything is going really well. I am very happy and excited to be here,’ he said.
‘I continue to do my best for both you and the team. I hope we will be in the Super League in a short time.’
Iheanacho also identified the goal that helped him break a record as his most special strike, although he admitted it was not necessarily his best in terms of technique.
He singled out another goal, scored after a superb assist from Ivan Saranic, as his favourite from an aesthetic perspective.
‘It wasn’t a very good goal, but it should be my standout goal because I broke the record with that goal,’ he explained.
On his teammates, Iheanacho named Batuhan Yayıkcı as the hardest worker, Halil Akbunar as both the most talkative and funniest player, Amine Boutrah as the quietest and Lincoln as the most talented.
