Lauren James, England top scorer warns Super Falcons: ‘I’m looking to improve and get better’

Lauren James, sister of Chelsea wing back, Recce James has warned Nigeria she is not where she wanted to be at the moment after scoring twice in the Three
Lionesses’ 6-1 mauling of China in their final group game.

England will face the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the round of 16 on Monday and James, who was voted player of the match in the game against China says the world has not seen her best yet.

‘Each day, each game, I’m looking to improve and get better, and there’s many more years of improvement to come. I can always get better, I just need to stay
focused,’ said James.

The 21 year old has made history as the youngest player to be directly involved in five goals in a single Women’s World Cup match.

Despite not starting England’s first game, she has the most goals+assists of any player at this year’s #FIFAWWC (3 goals, 3 assists) and, today, became the
first England player to be directly involved in 5+ goals in a game at the Men’s or Women’s World Cup.

James says the team is buzzing and are looking forward to the game against Nigeria. She laso revealed her best position.

‘I’m happy for the team and everyone is buzzing, and we’re looking forward to going into the next round. I felt free, whether I’m on the wing or in the
middle, I’m just happy to be on the pitch playing and enjoying my football. I’m happy I can contribute to goals as well.’
