Lookman Breaks Goal Drought as Atletico Edge Osasuna in LaLiga Clash

Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman returned to the scoresheet in LaLiga, netting his first goal since March 22, when he struck in Atletico Madrid’s 3-2 defeat at Real Madrid, as he opened the scoring in a tense 2-1 win away at Osasuna.
Lookman converted from the penalty spot after a lengthy VAR review confirmed Javi Galán’s handball inside the box, calmly firing home his eighth goal in all competitions since joining from Atletico in January.
His strike gave Atletico an early advantage, though Osasuna threatened to equalize before halftime, with Ante Budimir missing a clear chance and seeing a penalty award overturned after colliding with goalkeeper Juan Musso.
Atletico doubled their lead in the second half when substitute Alexander Sørloth connected with a Marcos Llorente cross at the back post.
Llorente’s night ended in frustration, however, as he was sent off for a second yellow card, leaving Diego Simeone’s side to defend with ten men.
