Lookman Retains Spot as 2nd Most Valuable Nigerian
Ademola Lookman has retained his position as Nigeria’s second most valuable player despite a significant change in the market values of several of the country’s leading stars in LaLiga.
According to the latest Transfermarkt valuations, Lookman remains valued at €40 million, behind compatriot Victor Osimhen, whose market value has dropped to €65m.
Osimhen, who now plays in Turkey, remains Nigeria’s most valuable player, although his latest valuation represents a €10m decline from his previous figure of €75m earlier in 2026.
Lookman, meanwhile, has held on to the €40m valuation he received after completing his move to Atlético de Madrid.
The figure represents a €5m recovery from the €35m valuation he dropped to in December 2025.
However, the Atlético winger remains some way below his career-high market value of €60m.
The 28-year-old ranks No. 173 among players worldwide, 32nd in LaLiga and sixth among Atlético players. He is also ranked 17th among the world’s most valuable left wingers and 11th among players born in 1997.
While Lookman has stabilised his valuation, Christantus Uche has continued his downward trend.
The Getafe forward is now valued at €9m, having fallen from his career-high valuation of €15m.
Uche’s value dropped to €12m earlier in 2026 before suffering another €3m decline in the latest assessment.
The 23-year-old is now ranked 18th among Nigerian players and third among Getafe’s most valuable players. He is also ranked 142nd among all players in LaLiga.
Chidera Ejuke, valued at €4m, and Umar Sadiq, valued at €3.5m, complete the top four Nigerian players in LaLiga in the latest figures provided by Transfermarkt.
Lookman’s €40m valuation is therefore more than four times Uche’s current value, while Osimhen remains comfortably ahead of both despite his €10m decline.
