Lookman Seeks To Join Osimhen In Nigerian UCL Goals Milestone

Ademola Lookman will be aiming to join compatriot Victor Osimhen in the exclusive group of Nigerian players to have scored at least 10 UEFA Champions League goals when Atlético Madrid host Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles forward has nine goals in 26 appearances in the competition across spells with two clubs and needs just one more to reach double figures.
Only Osimhen, with 17 goals in 29 Champions League appearances, has reached that milestone among Nigerian players.
Lookman is currently joint-second on Nigeria’s all-time Champions League scoring chart alongside former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins, who also finished his campaign in the competition with nine goals.
A goal against Bayern would take the 29-year-old clear of Martins and make him only the second Nigerian to score 10 or more goals in the Champions League.
Lookman has made an encouraging start to his European campaign with Atlético, scoring once and providing an assist in three Champions League appearances.
The former Atalanta forward also has a positive record against German opposition, having scored against Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt. He has yet to lose to Bayern across all competitions.
