Maresca: ‘I don’t know if Iheanacho can play at AFCON, Ndidi could be out for three months’

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca is still not sure if Kelechi Iheanacho will be fit to play for Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, which starts
next weekend in Cote D’Ivoire.

Iheanacho has assured Super Eagles gaffer he will be fit for the competition while his Leicester City compatriot, Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out and
replaced in the Nigeria roster for the competition.

Maresca is however not sure the former Manchester City forward will play at the comeptition.

‘I don’t know if Iheanacho can play at AFCON. The only thing I can say is that Kele (Iheanacho) is still injured. He’s getting better but he’s still not 100
per cent, otherwise he would be in the squad for the FA Cup game at The Den against Millwall on Saturday,’ Maresca said at the pre-match presser.

The Foxes gaffer is however sure Ndidi is out and could be for three months.

‘Probably for Wilf (Ndidi) it will be a long time. It could be three months. It looks like a muscle problem, but an important one. We’ll see in the next
hours. The situation for Wilf is the clearest one.
