Maresca: ‘Ndidi is a weapon out of possession for us’

Leicester City manager, Enzo Maresca has picked out Wilfred Ndidi for praise ahead the club’s home game against Birmingham City at the King Power stadium on Saturday, describing the Nigerian a ‘weapon’ out of possession.

‘Everybody is talking about Wilf, that we changed a little bit his position. But off the ball, Wilf is helping us, because of defending 20 metres behind, he’s defending 20 metres in front, very close to the goal. Off the ball he’s a big weapon for us. When we press us higher, he helps us to recover the ball and we are closer to the opposite goal,’ said Maresca. Leicester City sit third in the Sky Bet Championship table with a game in hand over leaders Ipswich Town and Leeds United and will be banking on Ndidi to guide them to victory on Saturday.
