Mo Salah out to equal Didier Drogba feat against Norwich

Liverpool attacker Mo Salah will be aiming to join an elite crowd of Premier League foreign players when the Reds welcome Norwich City to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Egypt international has 25 goal involvements in the Premier League this season (16 goals and nine assists).

His next assist will give him 10+ goals and assists in a Premier League campaign for the third time, after 2017/18 and 2019/20.

He would be just the third non-English player to do so after Eric Cantona (four times) and Didier Drogba (three times).

Salah is also closing in on the 150-goal mark for Liverpool.

His 24th goal of the season came in Wednesday’s 2-0 Champions League last-16 first-leg win over Inter Milan, and he scored one and set up two more in a 3-0 win over Norwich at Carrow Road back in August.

Liverpool are also aiming to maintain their top goal average against Norwich.

The Reds average 2.8 goals per match in the Premier League against the Canaries (53 goals in 19 meetings), their highest rate against any side they’ve faced at least five times in the competition.

There have been eight previous occasions an English top-flight team has beaten an opponent by 3+ goals three times in a single season (none by Liverpool), with the most recent being Arsenal against Aston Villa in 2014/15.

Meanwhile, Norwich are looking to win back-to-back Premier League away matches for the first time since January 2012 following their 3-0 win at Watford last month.
