NFF to Inaugurate Electoral Committees Ahead of September Elections

The Nigeria Football Federation will on Thursday, April 2, 2026, inaugurate its newly constituted Electoral Committee and Electoral Appeals Committee at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.
The inauguration will be presided over by NFF President and WAFU B Zone President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, MON.
The two committees were formed during the Extraordinary General Assembly held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on March 23, 2026.
A total of twelve individuals were appointed, with seven serving on the Electoral Committee and five on the Electoral Appeals Committee.
The Electoral Committee will oversee the entire electoral process in line with the NFF Statutes (March 2026 edition) and Electoral Code, while the Appeals Committee will handle disputes arising from the elections.
Members appointed include Barr. Matthew Burkala, SAN; Hon. Justice C. J. Aneke; Mr. Emmanuel Dada Obafemi; Alhaji Babagoni Grema; Barr. Benjamin Sak; Mallam Bature Musa; Prof. Abdulmalik Awwal; Arinze Azubuike Anughere, Esq; Hon. (Dr) Akogun Olugbenga Omole; Abayomi Akin Omoyimi, Esq; Ayibaye Peter Great Temedie, Esq; and Ayi Ekpo Ukpayam.
Thursday’s inauguration marks the beginning of preparations for the elections into the NFF Executive Committee, scheduled to take place in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on September 26, 2026.
The committees are expected to immediately swing into action to ensure a transparent and credible process.
