NFF Unveils Strategic Coaching Development Plan with CAF Courses, Fees Set at ₦700k and ₦3m/$3,000

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalized arrangements for two major coaching development programmes aimed at strengthening the technical capacity of elite coaches across the country.

A CAF B-License refresher course will run from 20th to 24th June 2026, followed by a comprehensive six-module CAF A-License course scheduled between 2nd August 2026 and 7th February 2027.

Speaking on the initiative, NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen, described the programmes as part of the federation’s strategic effort to build the capacity of coaches nationwide.

He noted that Nigeria’s recent readmission into the CAF A-License convention, after nine years of absence, underscores the importance of these courses in aligning with continental standards.

Eligibility for participation requires applicants to be active coaches at the elite level, including National Teams, NPFL, NNL, NWFL, and NLO.

Candidates must hold a CAF B diploma, demonstrate proficiency in English, possess computer literacy, and provide a medical certificate confirming physical and mental fitness.

Additionally, applicants are expected to submit a curriculum vitae and a reference letter. Successful candidates will undergo pre-course assessments testing their game analysis, presentation, and computer skills.

Upon completion of the CAF B refresher and pre-assessment, twenty-five candidates will receive a CAF CMS link to begin the A-License process.

The CAF A-License course fee is set at ₦3,000,000 for Nigerian coaches and $3,000 for foreign applicants, while the CAF B refresher course will cost ₦700,000.

The deadline for applications to the A-License course is Sunday, 31st May 2026. Pre-course assessments for both programmes will be conducted virtually and in-person between 1st and 23rd June 2026.

The NFF emphasized that these programmes are designed to ensure Nigerian coaches meet international standards and contribute to the long-term growth of football in the country.
